I'm basically a senior citizen at this point

Listen, as someone who crochets and reads a lot, I already knew I was an old soul, but after this class I feel like my nana. I use social media to keep in touch with my friends and family mostly, but also as inspiration for new product ideas for my small business. That's about the extent of my time online. Let me breakdown my internet use further for you:

Snapchat: I use Snapchat religiously as that's my main source of communication with my long distance boyfriend. It's also where I talk to most of my friends and my mom, so I'm on there quite a bit, I'd say a couple hours a day at least. I do explore the video side of things now too, as I like learning new things and I'm also subscribed to a few news outlets on there, but mostly it's used to keep in touch with my loved ones, and I'm clingy.

Instagram: also used as a social outlet, but for people I don't see or talk to everyday. As an introvert, it's nice to be able to keep up with peoples lives without actually having to talk to anyone, which makes me seem very Gen Z now that I type that out. Instagram is also where I follow a lot of stained glass content creators, getting ideas for new projects, video and photo inspo and business advice. I find that Instagram is great for this not only because it's visual, but also because I can comment and receive a response back, or I can message directly for advice from a complete stranger, which I wouldn't be able to do with Youtube or blogs.

And that's basically the extent of my technology use. I don't and have never used it to track my progress academically or to organize my life, I use a good ol' paper planner and white board calendar for that. I really should get one of those excel spreadsheets for my assignments though, they seem really handy.

I feel that because I don't use technology so much for entertainment purposes, I don't feel like I'm wasting time or productivity, although I do sometimes find myself in an Instagram reel hole. Other than that, I'm pretty technology free, which I feel to be a blessing and a curse. I feel like my school productivity would skyrocket with some sort of online time planner, but that would mean teaching a 23 year old dog new tricks, it'll come I'm sure.

Signing off for now,
